The MG EXE181 Hypercar Concept's 1.9-second Acceleration Time Is Sure To Wow
by AutoExpert | 22 April, 2024
SAIC-owned MG recently unveiled the EXE181 hypercar concept at the Beijing Auto Show. The four electric motors that power this electric vehicle allow it to reach 0–62 mph in just 1.9 seconds. The concept features a long tail with active aerodynamic flaps, a capsule-style cockpit, futuristic wheel covers, and strong fenders.
The elegant design, according to MG, produces a remarkable aerodynamic coefficient value of 0.181 cd. The front end has a translucent material that covers the exterior, allowing us to see the monocoque structure and even a part of the suspension.
The driver's seat dominates the small cabin, and a yoke-shaped wheel with a touchscreen joins it. The MG EXE181 ditches its predecessor's supercharged 1.5-liter engine for a more modern configuration with four electric motors.
MG has not yet disclosed the precise combined output but has assured a 0-62 mph acceleration in 1.9 seconds. By comparison, the Rimac Nevera set a new record of 1.81 seconds for the 0-62 mph sprint.
Official renderings hint at a possible attempt at a speed record. However, the MG EXE181 concept's peak speed is yet unknown. We expect to get additional details about the MG EXE181 concept at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.
