Infiniti QX Monograph Teases The Brand's Aesthetic Language

At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Infiniti debuted the QX Monograph concept, a preview of the company's future design direction. The next-generation QX80 SUV is teased in this research, and the foundation for the brand's future aesthetic is laid.
Although it is marketed as an anti-wedge, the QX Monograph's dimensions are identical to those of Infiniti's biggest SUV, the QX80. Alfonso Albaisa, the Senior Vice President of Global Design at Infiniti, stated that Infiniti strives to evoke emotions and curiosity through all of its products.
There are several subtle references in the QX Monograph's design. To start with, the double-arch grille was designed to evoke the look of bamboo groves. The new three-dimensional Infiniti emblem is front and center in the grille, where it is highlighted by shifting white light. The kimono fold pattern on the headlights is really detailed and reminds me of the keys of a digital piano.
To complete the design, the taillights mimic the effect of light dancing off of water's surface by using a piano key segment made up of a solid top block and a bottom striped piece. Shadow chrome, gloss black, and red-accented spokes adorn those alloy wheels. As an extra bonus, the front fender vent was inspired by bamboo woods.
While the specifics of the car's mechanical setup remain a mystery, early reports indicate it will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6.
