The Grand Rolls-Royce Reveal: Spectre and Ghost Models Dazzle at Salon Privé
by AutoExpert | 28 August, 2023
Rolls-Royce has unveiled a grand spectacle of luxury and innovation at this year's Salon Privé Concours d’Elegance at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, UK. The British automaker is introducing four new models, two of which are special editions of the Ghost and the other two being custom versions of the Spectre—the world's first ultra-luxury all-electric coupe.
Beginning of the Electric Goodwood Era
The Spectre models signal the start of a new era for Rolls-Royce, as the automaker aspires to transition its entire lineup to electric power by 2030. One of the showcased Spectre models is finished in Wittering Blue with a vibrant Mandarin Coachline, an obvious eye-catcher. This zero-emission two-door coupe flaunts an interior suite of Charles Blue, beautifully offset with Mandarin seat piping.
The second Spectre model, bathed in Chartreuse and Black Diamond, showcases an equally arresting cabin finished in Chartreuse, Grace White, and Peony Pink.
The Ghost Models Steal the Show
Rolls-Royce isn't holding back with its Ghost models either. One is painted in Tucana Purple, capturing the essence of the Southern starry night and the Tucana constellation, accompanied by contrasting Lime Green Coachline and Pinstripe tires.
Performance and Power
The North American debut of the Spectre took place at Monterey Car Week in California. With a 102-kilowatt-hour battery pack and two electric engines, the car produces 590 HP and 665 lb-ft of torque. It promises a range of 260 miles on a full charge and can go from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Pricing in the United States starts at $420,000.
On the other hand, the second-generation Ghost, launched in 2020, comes with all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that delivers 563 HP and 627 lb-ft of torque.
With this lineup, Rolls-Royce cements its status as the epitome of luxury, while also taking significant steps toward an all-electric future. The Grand Rolls-Royce Reveal at Salon Privé is more than just an introduction of new models; it's a celebration of the brand's legacy and a glimpse into its electrifying future.
