The First Prototype Of BMW 1 Series Sedan Was Caught In China!

It was not too long after the presentation of the concept BMW Compact Sedan and its prototype has already been spotted on public roads in China. From what you can see it is a well camouflaged car, a sign that the tests have just begun. In order to see the production version of the compact we will have to wait at least a year. I have strong doubts that BMW will be able to present it at the Geneva Motor Show scheduled for this spring. The reason why the new model was seen in China and not in Europe is that the car will be assembled at one of the partner factories, Brilliance-BMW.
From what we know so far, the new BMW 1 Series Sedan will be built on a platform already well known - UKL2, so that the engine range will be common to the models 1 Series, X1, or 2 Series Active Tourer, so do not mention MINI. This will be included the three and four-cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel, whose volume is between 1.5 and 2.0 liters.
And if you ask why BMW would launch a new model, find that the Bavarians tend to compete on every level with its rivals from Mercedes-Benz and Audi, so the 1 Series Sedan targets in the A3 and CLA. Moreover that the front-wheel drive will be offered as standard and optional will be available the xDrive system.
The design of the BMW 1 Series Sedan will try to keep the forms of the concept previously presented, but it remains to be seen to what extent this will be respected.
