The Chinese YangWang U9 Electric Supercar Can Reach 60 MPH In Just 2.0 Seconds

BYD's new premium EV brand, YangWang, surprised us with the unveiling of the U9 battery-powered supercar at the introduction of the U8 electric off-roader. The "Gate Of Time And Space" design aesthetic will be used in the upcoming model.
It boasts a sleek profile, two doors, and advanced aerodynamics. Together with the vents on the elongated fenders, the F1-inspired snout, and the C-shaped LED headlamps up front make for a menacing look.
The rear diffuser, side skirts, and splitter all have incorporated fins and yellow highlights. A duo-tone finish with black accents surrounds the bodywork, contrasting the brilliant yellow color. The transparent fin that protrudes from the vented rear windscreen and resembles a Lamborghini engine cover is another eye-catching feature.
The competitor Aion Hyper SSR from GAC is just 0.1 seconds faster than the Yangwang U9, which can reportedly accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2 seconds flat. BYD did not specify the power output but did state that the "Yisifang" technology would be used in its quad motor arrangement. The Yangwang U8 off-road vehicle has four electric motors, each of which generates 295–322 hp and 236-310 lb-ft of torque.
This results in a total output of nearly 1,100 horsepower. The Yangwang U9 by BYD is a production vehicle rather than a concept car. At the debut, it will cost more than 1 million yen ($145,340) in China.
