The Chinese Market Gets A First Look At Ford's Aggressive-Looking SUV, The Edge L
by AutoExpert | 13 March, 2023
In the aftermath of Ford discontinuing the Fusion in America, the American automaker presented a new version of the car tailored for the Chinese market. Known there as the Mondeo, the vehicle's stylish design appeared to have been inspired by the iconic Mustang.
Now, Ford, through its Chinese joint-venture partner, Changan, has unveiled the 2024 Ford Edge L, a three-row SUV with an attractive and contemporary appearance that puts the older two-row Edge model to shame.
The design of the Ford Edge L is truly impressive, particularly the way the grille and headlights are smoothly integrated. This design is a continuation of the style already exhibited by the two-row Chinese Edge Hybrid, featuring louver-style smoked taillights that blend effortlessly into the smoked heckblende.
Under the hood, the Ford Edge L offers two EcoBoost powertrain options. The first is an E-Hybrid powertrain that generates 271 horsepower, while the second is a conventional gas-powered engine that produces 248 horsepower. The SUV has a transverse engine configuration and is equipped with all-wheel drive.
The interior of the Ford Edge L boasts a sleek and modern design, featuring second-row captain's chairs and a wide touchscreen display that spans almost the entire width of the dashboard. Although the Edge L has not yet made its debut, it is possible that it will be showcased at the upcoming Shanghai auto show.
