"For the first time, Australia will encounter the freshly launched CR-V equipped with a Hybrid e:HEV powertrain. This exciting addition to our Honda Australia hybrid collection will present more choices for future Honda purchases. The Honda e:HEV hybrid powertrain, found across Accord, Civic, Honda ZR-V, and HR-V ranges, blends performance and efficiency, and gains popularity daily," stated Honda Australia director Carolyn McMahon in a press release.

Prices and specifications for the Honda CR-V 2024 were released just before sales begin on September 1.

Honda CR-V 2024

It has been 12 months since the 6th generation of CR-V debuted in the North American market, and two months since its unveiling in Europe. Australians will have up to 7 variants to choose from, with prices starting at 29,798 USD and reaching 40,111 USD. Local dealerships have already begun accepting pre-orders for the new SUV.

The CR-V 2024 range includes two seven-seat versions: the 31,338 USD VTi X7 and 35,490 USD VTi L7. Rounding out the 1.5-liter models are the five-seat AWD VTi L, priced at 34,352 USD, and the AWD five-seat VTi LX model, priced at 38,169 USD.

At the top of the range is the Honda CR-V e-HEV RS, exclusively available as a five-seat model. This particular model features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors, generating 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque in North American specs.

The starting price for the Honda CR-V e-HEV RS is 40,111 USD, but the Australian market may see discounts to reduce the price.

Six out of seven available CR-V models come with a standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Though Australian engine specifications haven't been announced, the identical engine in the U.S. produces 190 hp at 6,000 rpm and 179 lb-ft of torque between 1,700 and 5,000 rpm. The base model is the 2WD VTi X five-seat, starting at 29,798 USD. For those with a larger budget, there's the better-equipped five-seat 2WD VTi L, priced from 32,678 USD.
