The BMW has developed a new version of the ConnectedDrive system and will offer it on all the standard models in its range since autumn. The new version of the BMW ConnectedDrive introduces a new iDrive controller, a new central TFT display and an integrated slot for a SIM card, which will be used to provide Internet in the car all time. With this system, the user can benefit from various online services offered by BMW and will have access to many online functions, from online radio with 17 million available songs to the Mobile Office app, able to "listen" the driver`s dictation, write it down and send emails with whatever he dictates. Adding the standard equipment system to the list, the BMW models will not be more expensive and the system will be able to send also software updates and to diagnose faults from the distance. The BMW say they have worked hard on the system security, being more expensive "breaking" the system codes than to purchase the offered applications. Mainly, the BMW will cover the entire integrated SIM card roaming when the driver will go outside the country he is registered, ensuring the ConnectedDrive system operation even when leaving the country. The BMW purpose related to the ConnectedDrive is to deliver this system on five million units by 2017 and go on 24 markets.
