The Audi Company is putting the finishing touches on the latest Mercedes-Benz Sedan's worthy rival - the sedan version of the current A3, set to enter the market later this year.
The Germans' three-box model will debut next month, on April 20, at the Shanghai Motor Show. Developed on the same MQB platform, the new A3 Sedan will borrow some design lines from the concept with the same name, presented in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Ingolstadt officials' decision to produce the three-box model at a factory based in China, which they own together with the local partner FAW, is an absolute novelty. This decision does nothing but confirming Audi's intentions to focus its attention on the Chinese market, where the premium segment is experiencing a positive evolution, once again.
The Audi A3 Sedan will be equipped with the engines of the current hatchback version, from the 1.2-liter and 1.8-liter TSI units up to the 150-hp and 184-hp 2.0-liter diesel engines.
