Mercedes-Benz is marking the 55th anniversary of AMG in 2022 by releasing "Edition 55" special versions for several cars. Following the introduction of the G 63 and the A35; CLA 35 in Europe, Mercedes-AMG introduced the A45 S; CLA 45 S "Edition 55" in Australia.
The cars come in Cosmos black metallic or Digital white metallic color options. The AMG Aerodynamics package, which features a large splitter, canards, and back wing, gives the body kit a more forceful aspect.
The AMG Night Package II is standard on the "Edition 55," which includes a high-gloss grille, side sill inserts, intakes, splitter, mirror caps, and window line trim, as well as the badges. The standard 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels include a distinctive center cap with "Edition 55" components as a finished look.
A black-and-red color scheme has been chosen for the special versions' interiors. The seats are covered in red and black leather, and the steering wheel bears the inscription "Edition 55."
Speaking of the engine, the CLA 45 S and A45 S are equipped with the most potent iteration of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder motor, which produces 415 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. A smart eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the 4MATIC+ system with AMG Torque Control and Drift Mode provide power to all four wheels.
The vehicles will be available at Australian dealerships by the end of 2022, with price information to be released closer to that date. The company did not disclose how many A45 S and CLA 45 S "Edition 55" models will be available for purchase.
