The 2025 Cupra UrbanRebel EV Is Getting Closer To Production
by AutoExpert | 8 June, 2022
The newest UrbanRebel concept from Cupra shows that the electric hatchback is one step closer to production. It used to be a gigantic display car, but now it's being promoted as a more refined model that can be driven on the street.
To Cupra, the UrbanRebel represents much more than just a vehicle. Wayne Griffiths, the CEO of Cupra, says that this is the way that electric transportation in cities will change for the better.
Based on the MEB chassis, like the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Born, the car will have 223 horsepower from an electric engine. UrbanRebel's electric engine drives its front wheels.
Cupra claims that it utilized 3D printing and 3D knitting to create this concept. Because of this, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, which is about the same speed as the VW Polo GTI.
Cupra further says that the UrbanRebel will be ready to go up to 273 miles on a single charge despite its 13-foot length. For comparison, the bigger Cupra Born is evaluated at 335 miles on the WLTP. The UrbanRebel's interior reveals that it will be a high-end vehicle. The car has a lot of cool technology, like a big screen for entertainment and a detailed set of gauges.
Cupra UrbanRebel EV is expected to be built in Martorell, Spain. It has been claimed by Cupra that the concept shown is 95% accurate in terms of the car that will be introduced in 2025.
