The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition Goes All Out
by AutoExpert | 2 June, 2022
The MORIZO is the second special edition model of the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla produced by the Japanese automaker. When Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda sits behind the wheel of a race car, he goes by this nickname.
The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition joins the GR Corolla Core Grade and Circuit Edition, with manufacturing limited to just 200 cars globally. The MORIZO Edition boasts a variety of performance enhancements. Windchill Pearl and Matte Gray are the two color options.
According to Toyota, the GR Corolla MORIZO Edition was created to fulfill the high standards of Akio Toyoda, the company's president. The ordinary GR Corolla produces 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, but the MORIZO Edition's torque output has been increased to 295 pound-feet. For the GR Corolla MORIZO Edition, Toyota has also developed a tighter ratio six-speed manual gearbox that aims to boost acceleration.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are mounted on new 18-inch forged wheels. A series of weight-saving techniques support the increased torque, resulting in the MORIZO Edition weighing roughly 100 lbs less than the Circuit. The back seats, rear door speakers, back window regulator, back wiper blade and motor were all removed to save weight.
The interior of the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition has also been improved. The door handles, steering wheel, and side air ducts all have new black and red trim elements. Additionally, the car has red mesh accents in the seats and a suede-wrapped sports steering wheel. Availability and pricing information will be released later.
