Starting In July, Fiat Will Discontinue All Pure ICE Models In The United Kingdom
by AutoExpert | 31 May, 2022
There will be no non-electrified cars in Fiat's UK range starting July 1, 2022, and only mild-hybrid and fully electric vehicles will be available. The two ICE-powered variants left in the UK were the Tipo and the 500X. All of them used versions of the turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine.
According to Fiat, electric vehicle registrations in the United Kingdom grew by the largest yearly percentage in 2021. BEVs grew by 88.3%, HEVs by 43%, and MHEVs by 18.5% over the previous year. The company can be proud of this accomplishment.
With the 500 Hybrid and Panda Hybrid, Fiat began electrifying its product lineup in 2020. Both use a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder motor with a mild-hybrid 12-volt setup. Since then, Fiat has only offered one fully electric vehicle: the 500. However, in early 2022, the 500X Hybrid and Tipo Hybrid joined the brand's portfolio as fully electric vehicles. A turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder motor with a 48-volt mild-hybrid arrangement powers these. We can expect to see more all-electric Fiat cars to come in the near future.
