Rolls-Royce's Latest Coachbuilt Model Is Called 'La Rose Noire'
by AutoExpert | 21 August, 2023
Rolls-Royce Coachbuild recently revealed their newest creation, and it's no ordinary car. It's called the Droptail, and it has been lovingly named "La Rose Noire" as part of a special collection of four Droptail designs.
The elegant design and the Coachbuild-exclusive monocoque construction, which combines aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber, guarantee durability while also providing a surprisingly lightweight sensation.
The Droptail is not just any ordinary car; it represents a special milestone for Rolls-Royce as their first-ever modern roadster. Take a look at the stylish temple brow overhang that connects the headlights or the clever rear sail cowls that create downforce. The Droptail doesn't hold back when it comes to power. This unique Rolls-Royce Coachbuild creation has a 6.75-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine that has an additional 30 horsepower.
The exterior paintwork of the car is inspired by the beautiful colors of the black Baccara rose. It features unique shades called "Mystery" and "True Love" that have the ability to shift and change in different lighting conditions. To create this effect, a special base coat and several layers of clear lacquer were applied.
Once inside, you can notice that every little detail has been carefully considered. The beautiful parquetry creates a design that brings to mind the graceful fall of rose petals. This beautiful piece was crafted using 1,603 meticulously arranged black wood veneer triangles. Each triangle was painstakingly hand-placed, making it a labor of love.
And there's even more: a beautifully crafted timepiece by Audemars Piguet and a champagne chest that adds an extra touch of opulence. This timepiece is inspired by the Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date. Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail will make its grand entrance at Pebble Beach.
