Porsche announced a facelift for the smallest models in its list of Supercars, Boxster, and Cayman.
They will benefit from a few aesthetic changes, new engines, and a new name that will henceforth include the prefix 718. Recently the Germans have made public and received official information, which comes accompanied by a new teaser.
The Sportcars manufacturer from Stuttgart will revive the famous 718 names with its reincarnation Boxster and Cayman models in the new facelift. About this thing, Porsche told us recently, and today we found out the date.
Specifically, we were informed that the world debut of the new models will take place in 2016 but unfortunately was not specified the exact date. But most likely this will happen even next spring at the Geneva Motor Show.
As mentioned above, besides the cosmetic treatment applied to the exterior, the Sportcars will benefit new engines, designed and developed specifically for these models. The entry-level version will be powered by a turbo aspirated four-cylinder and 2.0-liter volume, which generates 240 horsepower.
This will be followed by the 2.5-liter unit capable of delivering a total of 300 horsepower and will be found under the hood of the Boxster S and Cayman S models. The new range will remain the same GTS which provides the driver a total of 370 horsepower!
