Porsche 928 Sufari Is A Beach-Ready Adventure Machine
by AutoExpert | 29 July, 2024
Meet the 928 Sufari, a Porsche inspired by the beach and built for adventure. First off, you’ll notice the surfboards strapped to the roof rack, a nod to its seaside roots. This unique Porsche 928 Sufari belongs to Tadeusz Elwart, the mastermind behind the Hel Riders event in Poland.
It’s the perfect ride for an event that celebrates skateboarding, surfing, and cool cars. The goal was to create a Porsche that could serve as both a surf taxi and a true off-road safari vehicle.
While the 928’s V-8 engine packs plenty of power, its front-engine, rear-drive setup isn’t ideal for rough terrain. That’s where Tomasz Staniszewski comes in. A seasoned rally driver and engineer, Tomasz offered his expertise after completing the Classic Dakar Rally in a modified Porsche 924. Sadly, details are unknown.
Speaking of the looks, the Porsche 928 Sufari sits higher than usual and sports beefy all-terrain tires. The suspension, gearbox, and differential have been modified to handle off-roading and sandy beaches. Meanwhile, Lange & Lange, a design studio based in Warsaw, took care of the exterior. Just look how amazing those Rothmans-inspired stripes and wide wheel arches are!
