Pit26 Transforms The Mercedes G-Class Into A Pickup Truck For $385,000

Mercedes is not usually associated with pickup trucks, but still, the company has previously offered models such as the G63 AMG 6x6 and the X-Class. Pit26 Motorsports is now bringing back the spirit of those vehicles with a new pickup based on the G550 or G63 (produced between 2019-2023).
The SUV-to-truck conversion involves removing a few components and cutting the vehicle directly behind the rear seats. The chassis is then extended by 20 inches, and a truck bed is added while keeping the G-Class look by using OEM parts.
Pit26 Motorsports has also upgraded the suspension, including adding new upper and lower control arms, a sturdy steering knuckle, and custom Bilstein shocks and coils. The portal axles have been re-geared, and the rear axle now has a full lower truss support for increased strength and rigidity. The truck is then fitted with 18- or 20-inch wheels and 38-inch Toyo tires, which give it nearly 9 inches of additional ground clearance.
Despite the modifications, the vehicle's factory-level steering geometry and suspension angle ensure a comfortable ride akin to the original G-Class. The tuner is also offering various options such as a custom front bumper with an integrated winch, a roof top tent, a roof rack with KC auxiliary lights, and electric side steps. The starting price for the Mercedes G-Class truck is $385,000, and the build time is over 1,100 man-hours.
