Peugeot Goes All-Electric By 2025

European Peugeot fans, beware! The carmaker will provide exclusively electric cars by 2025. The timeline includes 70% of its cars to be electrified in 2021, 85% - in 2023, and the final 100% - in 2025.
If you’re a diesel or petrol guy/girl, don’t worry: there’ll still be plug-in hybrid alternatives to its all-electric versions. This is part of the Power of Choice strategy, announced by Linda Jackson, Peugeot CEO.
According to Linda, the electric models are becoming very popular among Peugeot fans, so as electrification is emerging, the carmaker wants to become a premium, innovative brand.
At the moment, Peugeot features plug-in hybrid alternatives for 3008 C-SUV, 508 SW, and 508 sedan, both in FWD, Hybrid4, AWD versions. 308 hatchback and SW also come with two versions of the FWD plug-in hybrid. You may have noticed the resemblance with Opel Astra.
Now back to fully electric models. Peugeot has its e-208 supermini and e-2008 SUV sharing the eCMP platform – the same that has given the world Citroen e-C4, Opel Corsa e/Mokka-e, and others.
So, what will happen to the non-electrified Peugeots? They’ll be discontinued. Plain and simple.
