Orders For 2022 Acura NSX Type S Fill Up Quickly
by AutoExpert | 20 September, 2021
Despite the NSX's dismal sales history, the enthusiasm when Acura revealed the swansong Type S was considerable. Sadly, if you're an American and want one, you most probably can't. According to Motor1, all 300 2022 Acura NSX Type S available in the US were booked with deposits within 24 hours of being on sale. Hundreds more individuals are on a waitlist, according to an anonymous business insider.
So, Acura pumped up the NSX's power and torque to give it a total of 600-hp (447 kW/608 PS) and 492 lb-ft (667 Nm). The vehicle still has the same 3.5-liter aluminum alloy twin-turbo V6 engine with three electric motors, but with improvements.
2022 Acura NSX Type S is also touted to be the finest NSX ever, owing to improved downforce, a wider track, and a carbon-fiber top. The $13,000 Lightweight Kit includes carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, a carbon-fiber engine cover, and a carbon-fiber interior option. This saves 57.8 lbs (26.2 kg).
Furthermore, the Lightweight Package adds $2,500 to the base price of $169,500. We previously heard the vehicle was popular since the first one sold for $1.1 million in August.
America's 300 NSX Type S are all gone. We know 30 will be sold in Japan, but as Hondas. We do not know, however, where the other 20 will go, but we're sure they won't be cheap.
