Eco-Friendly And Spacious: Introducing Nissan Townstar Evalia For Europe
by AutoExpert | 7 May, 2024
With the release of the Townstar, Nissan has brought back the Evalia brand in the European market. This vehicle is available with either a gasoline or an all-electric drivetrain, and it has a lengthy wheelbase that lets you choose between five or seven seats.
Following in the footsteps of the venerable e-NV200 comes the Nissan Townstar Evalia, a competitor to the Renault Grand Kangoo. It's based on the Townstar LCV's L2 bodystyle, which debuted in 2023's summer.
With its extended 3,100 mm (122.0 in) wheelbase, this setup is 384 mm (15.1 in) longer than the regular L1 model. You may choose between a five- or seven-seater layout within the cabin, thanks to the extra length. The sliding, folding, and retractable second- and third-row seats allow for a spacious load capacity of up to 3,750 liters (132.4 cubic feet).
In a seven-seater layout, the cargo area should measure around 500 liters (17.7 cubic feet), according to the Renault equivalent. Its 49 liters (1.73 cubic feet) of front-cabin storage make it more useful. The Intelligent Around View Monitor, Blind Spot Warning, and Lane Keep Assist are some of the safety features.
Choose between an electric and an internal combustion engine model of the Nissan Townstar Evalia. The electric vehicle is similar to Renault's E-Tech vans in that it has a single electric motor that produces 120 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Similarly, the 45-kWh battery pack can charge from 15 to 80 percent in 37 minutes, providing a range of up to 165 miles.
It is compatible with 80 kW DC charging. The gas-powered variant has a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine and produces 128 horsepower. Probably because of the strict pollution standards in Europe, Nissan has decided not to provide a diesel alternative.
