After Volkswagen announced 3 months ago opening its own plant in Ghana, Nissan Motor Co also wants to start their final assembly in the same country.
This one will be the fourth in Africa. Ghana has new legislation aimed to turn the country into an automotive hub for its 380 million people. Tax-breaks, a much-restricted influx of second-cars and banning the car that are more than 10 years old.
The first car to get the final assembly will be the Nissan Navara pickup in Accra.
