The 2025 Mazda BT-50 has finally been revealed at the Motor Expo in Thailand, and it’s looking better than ever. The big news? The new 2.2-liter MaxForce turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine produces 161 hp and 400 Nm of torque, a significant improvement over the previous 1.9-liter engine.
Plus, you get the option of a six-speed manual or a slick new eight-speed automatic gearbox. Mazda promises smoother shifting and better fuel efficiency with the new automatic—sounds like a win to us!
If you’re after more power, the Mazda BT-50 still offers the 3.0-liter turbodiesel, which delivers 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque. This engine comes with either a six-speed manual or automatic, and you can go for rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on what you need. The 4WD version comes with a rear differential lock and off-road driving mode—perfect for when you want to take the truck on more adventurous routes.
The front end of the Mazda BT-50 has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring an eye-catching, and new LED headlights that enhance its modern appearance. Inside, there’s a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and depending on the trim, you’ll get either an 8-inch or 9-inch infotainment screen.
Mazda has also stepped up the safety game with more advanced driver assistance systems, like the Rear Cross Traffic Brake system. For those of you in Thailand, the Mazda BT-50 is currently available for purchase. The base model, with the 2.2-liter engine and rear-wheel drive, starts at ฿762,000 ($22,100), while the fully loaded 3.0-liter 4WD version tops out at ฿1,352,000 ($39,200).
