New Electric Macan 4S and Macan Models From Porsche Now Available
by AutoExpert | 16 July, 2024
The all-wheel-drive Macan 4S and rear-wheel-drive Macan are the newest additions to Porsche's family. The base Macan model is the first to include a single electric motor positioned at the back that generates 335 horsepower or 355 horsepower when used in overboost mode, as well as 415 lb.-ft. of torque.
With a top speed of 136 mph, the base electric Porsche Macan can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. After the Macan 4 and before the Macan Turbo, the lineup gets a boost with the arrival of the more powerful Macan 4S. It has a twin electric motor arrangement that produces 442 horsepower when used at normal speed, 509 horsepower, and 578 lb.-ft. when used in overboost.
Slightly slower than the Macan Turbo by 0.8 seconds but quicker than the Macan 4 by 1 second, this setup allows for a 0–60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds. An electronic cap prevents the vehicle from exceeding 149 mph. With the option for rear-axle steering, both the Macan and the Macan 4S come standard with adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled dampers.
The electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management system, which is easily upgradeable to include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, is also standard on the all-wheel-drive Macan 4S.
Porsche has also added extra engine choices to the electric Macan lineup, and all trim levels now have the option to add an off-road design kit. Particularly for those who want to drive it off-road, this package promises to improve the SUV's everyday usage while also enhancing its rough and adventurous appeal. A reworked front bumper, side skirts, and diffuser are all part of the set. It comes with a body kit and new alloy wheels in Vesuvius Grey, which are 21 inches in diameter and have five spokes.
Moreover, this off-road package raises the air suspension by 0.4 inches, which raises the ground clearance to 7.6 inches at the standard setting and 8.8 inches at the maximum setting. The maximum approach angle is 17.5 degrees. Additionally, Porsche included new ways for customers to customize their Macan EV.
Among them are 20-inch Macan S alloy wheels, as well as the newly added Slate Grey Neo color option to the color palette. Finally, the Porsche Driver Experience has upgraded its digital cockpit with brand new screen animations and visuals. With the new Themes app, drivers may change the ambient lighting and backdrop color of the displays to match the outside hue of their car.
Prices for the Porsche Macan range from $75,300 for the base model to $84,900 for the top-of-the-line 4S. The pricing above does not include any taxes or fees. You can place an order for the new models right now, and you can expect to get them in the United States sometime in the fourth quarter.
