by AutoExpert | 19 October, 2021
The BMW 3 Series may be expecting a makeover in 2022, but the long-wheelbase Gran Limousine version has just received a new distinctive Iconic Edition from BMW India. The vehicle would be built in small numbers in India, with diesel and gasoline engines available solely for the Indian market.
It is based on the 2021 Indian-spec BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine, which sits between the normal 3 Series and the bigger 5 Series in the BMW lineup. It is 110 mm (4.3 inches) longer than the standard 3 Series, with a length of 4,829 mm (190 inches) and a wheelbase of 2,961 mm (116.5 inches), providing greater space for the back occupants.
The BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille, as well as standard LED headlights and taillights, differentiate the Iconic Edition. It's centered on the Luxury Pack, but with bigger 18-inch wheels and chrome accents all over the exterior.
Within the interior, the automatic transmission is controlled by an Exclusive Crystal Gear Shift Knob with a lighted 3 logo identical to the one found on the 8 Series flagship.
Standard features include Vernasca leather luxury seats for the driver and front passenger, as well as extra headrest padding and a coat hanger in the back seats.
Parking Assistant and Reversing Assistant are two types of driver assistance systems, with the latter keeping note of the past 50 meters traveled and taking control of the steering while reversing out of tight parking places or through small roads.
The 330Li has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol motor that produces 258 hp (192 kW / 262 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), while the 320Ld has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) (295 lb-ft). The eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters distributes power to the back wheels in both circumstances.
Production of the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Iconic Edition will take place at the BMW Group's plant in Chennai, India. The 330Li and 320Ld are currently on sale in India, with pricing starting at ₹5,350,000 ($71,379) and ₹5,490,000 ($73,247), respectively.
