MINI Electric Pacesetter Going Public At The Goodwood Festival Of Speed
by AutoExpert | 1 July, 2021
Good news comes from MINI, as it has announced to premiere its Electric Pacesetter next week, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car serving as a safety vehicle for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has been specially created for duties regarding safety cars.
The premiere will be joined by John Cooper’s grandson, Charlie Cooper, who will be driving the car. MINI Electric Pacesetter differs from a regular Cooper SE through a new body, side skirts, extended wheel arches, and last but not the least, a 3D printed front splitter, made out of recycled carbon fiber.
The livery will be impressive as well, standing out with its black and orange wheels, a diffuser, a rear wing, and a light bar.
The electric powertrain ensures 1801 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This enables MINI Electric Pacesetter to reach the first 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The coilover suspension helps with three-way adjustment for the rebound, height, compression, and camber.
MINI Electric Pacesetter serves as a preview of the future John Cooper Works electric performance models.
