Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+ Limited Edition: Unleashing Green Hell
by AutoExpert | 15 February, 2024
Mercedes AMG A45 S 4Matic+ has remained pretty much the same since 2020, and still its name is on the “most powerful hot hatch in the world” headline. However, the carmaker decided to introduce a new “Limited Edition” model that strikes a blinding exterior shade named Mercedes Green Hell, alongside a bunch of cool extra adds-on.
The most eye-catching part of this Green Hell is its “AMG Green Hell Magno” shade. This color might indeed be familiar to AMG GT series enthusiasts; the vehicle marks its debut in the compact segment with this launch. This vibrant green shade goes well with the distinctive graphic touches and yellow accents. Crowning the special-edition is the AMG crest adorning the hood, and “A45 S” engraving embellishing the doors.
The green devil rides on 19-inch forged wheels finished in a matte shade of pitch black with yellow stains. In contrast with the eye-burning shades, the brake calipers are finished in a glossy black with white AMG engraving.
Other details that scream - Limited edition - are hidden inside. The iconic trim of the flagship A-Class features Microcut microfiber upholstery and Artico man-made leather. And, of course, the special accents can’t be overlooked - the piping and bright yellow stitching blend well in the dark-toned cabin, complementing the multi-color ambient lighting.
While the name “Limited edition” means a fully trimmed model, this one offers a selection of extra packages in true AMG fashion. The night AMG trim improves the vehicle with pitch black elements and dark windows, while the night AMG II package lifts the cabin to a whole new level with additional darkened trim and Mercedes stars.
The AMG Aerodynamic Package introduces soft elements such as the fixed rear wing.
Evidently, there are no modifications under the hood. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain offers the same 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque as any other A45 S. The power is transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic, advised by the AMG Performance 4Matic+ setup.
The setup makes it possible for the hot hatch to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 3,9 seconds. However, the max speed is limited to 168 mph; something German customers can test on the Autobahn.
Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+ Limited Edition is already available for order in Europe before its official launch on the market, in April 2024. In Germany, the price for the optional equipment hits 15.300 USD over the standard A45 S model.
