Maserati Levante, the carmaker's first SUV also gets an environmentally friendly option. The electrification strategy of the Italians began last summer with the introduction of the Ghibli eco version. The manufacturer's 2nd vital step in this regard is the unveiling of its Maserati Levante Hybrid.
Maserati Levante Hybrid is driven by a 2.0-liter powertrain that produces 330 hp and 450 Nm of torque. It's used in conjunction with a 48V hybrid 'E-Booster' system.
All-wheel drive is standard on the vehicle. The new Maserati Levante Hybrid achieves 100 km/h in just 6 secs thanks to its performance characteristics, with a top speed of 240 km/h. In addition, the battery was placed in the back of the automobile to avoid limiting the boot's cargo capacity.
Highlighting the positive aspects, the battery's location near the rear axle provides a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution, which improves the SUV's stability and dynamic handling. Surprisingly, the officials claim the Maserati Levante Hybrid gets 18% greater fuel economy than the 350 hp V6 petrol version.
