Hiperon Motors, a Malaysian automotive startup, has revealed the first renderings of its luxury four-door electric/hydrogen-powered crossover, named Fosslin. Following the unveiling of the fully electric Hiperon Carrier van in 2021, the company plans to begin production of the Fosslin, with an initial batch of ten units scheduled for delivery in Q3 of 2023.
Although the Fosslin originates from Malaysia, it was designed by a European automotive design studio known as One One Lab, with all engineering work carried out in the United States.
The Fosslin features a sleek and aerodynamic profile with a coupe-SUV stance and short overhangs. The car's exterior design also includes a fully covered and illuminated grille, LED lighting units, suicide doors, frameless windows, and an integrated ducktail spoiler at the rear.
Inside, the Hiperon Fosslin offers a luxurious cabin with four individual seats, a large panoramic sunroof, and a yoke-style steering wheel. The interior also boasts ambient lighting and a slim center console housing the infotainment system under a single glass cover.
Hiperon has provided some technical specifications for the fully electric variant of the Fosslin. Equipped with a 95 kWh battery pack, the car offers an estimated driving range of 280 miles. The electric motors deliver 480 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 mph.
Hiperon Motors plans to launch the Fosslin in Asia, Europe, and North America after a three-month testing period with selected customers, though the price of the luxury four-door crossover has yet to be disclosed.
