Lynk & Co 01 SUV Gets Hybrid Boost And Tech Upgrade
by AutoExpert | 11 September, 2024
Lynk & Co has just launched an updated version of their 01 SUV in Europe, bringing a new plug-in hybrid powertrain and a refreshed infotainment system to the table. The 01 now sports a gloss black grille, new wheel options, and updated LED taillight graphics.
Plus, the color palette has expanded with fresh options like Crystal White, Sparkling Black, and Mineral Green Metallic, all based on feedback from customers. Inside, the updates are a bit more significant. With a bigger 15.4-inch touchscreen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, the infotainment system promises much faster performance.
There’s also the welcome addition of physical buttons on the steering wheel for easier control. The real star of the show is the new plug-in hybrid powertrain. It now delivers 276 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque, a boost from the previous model’s 257 hp and 313 lb-ft. Although Lynk & Co. didn’t go into full detail, it’s likely the setup includes a turbocharged 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor.
The company also hinted at chassis improvements, promising sharper acceleration and more responsive handling. In terms of efficiency, the updated PHEV setup is more eco-friendly than before. Fuel consumption has improved slightly, dropping from 1 to 0.9 liters per 100 km (about 261 mpg US), and CO2 emissions are down from 24 to 20 g/km, at least according to the optimistic WLTP cycle.
The zero-emission electric range remains steady at 75 km (47 miles). First introduced in China in 2017, the Lynk & Co 01 made its way to European markets after a facelift in 2021. Built on the same platform as the Volvo XC40, C40, Polestar 2, and Lynk & Co 05 coupe-SUV, the updated 01 will be hitting European showrooms in the coming months.
