Ford Australia has a new flagship variant of the Focus ST hot hatch and dubbed it ST-3. The Australians will get only 200 chances to achieve an ST-3, and that would be a win-win. This Ford Australian standard model features a panoramic sunroof, heated and electrically-adjustable front Recaro sports seats with lumbar support.
There is more to it - B&O Play 10-speaker audio system with subwoofer, a Head-Up Display, and a Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert. What more can you wish? The exposed hot hatch features Ford’s Advanced Front Lighting System (AFLS), which detects curves in the road and turns the headlights due to a special installed camera.
This system can adapt even the shape of the headlights to suit the road and driving situations. Also, the owners should enjoy the wireless smartphone charging, keyless entry and push-button engine start, ambient LED lighting, and dual-zone climate control. According to Ford Australia president and chief executive Andrew Birkic, Focus ST attracted passionate followers. The ST-3 supplements their popular Ford Performance portfolio, including the Fiesta ST, Mustang, and Ranger Raptor.
He also stated, “The premium equipment levels add an extra touch of prestige to the Focus ST’s already highly-regarded performance credentials, with the technology and innovation our enthusiast customers expect in a hot-hatch.”
The Focus ST-3 is not different from the standard model rather than with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Powered by an all-aluminum 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering up to 276 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 420 Newton-meters of torque, between 3,000 - 4,000 rpm. This extra featured Ford Focus ST-3 has a price starting at US$37,400 (AU$47,990), which is a fair price for these feature package.
