The downhill race of speed at Pikes Peak invites its participants, and through them, ready for the competition are the Japanese from Lexus.
With a concept specially prepared, GT RC F, Lexus hopes to emerge victorious in the Time Attack race, which involves attending a route with 156 turns, a distance of 12.42 miles against the clock!
And because it is a racing car, the engineers have modified it, by reducing the total mass by 300 kilograms compared to the street version. Even so, the Japanese coupe weighs 1,420 kilograms, which can be considered less.
Under the hood is the 5.0-liter V8 engine, naturally aspirated and connected to an automatic transmission with eight speeds. Its performance is still unknown, so before the beginning of the race, the engineers will experiment with the machine settings to identify the perfect compromise.
Lexus RC F GT Concept will be piloted by the British Justin Bell, a former champion at LeMans 24 hour race in 1998.
