Jaguar XJR8 / 9 Le Mans has achieved the best time at Goodwood!
by AllAutoExperts | 15 July, 2013
Justin Law, at the wheel of his XJR8/9 Le Mans Jaguar, painted in the famous "Silk Cut" colours, recorded the fastest time up the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb course in the final timed shoot-out, setting a time of 45.95 seconds on the 1.85-km course.
Justin managed to outrun the Frenchman Gregory Guilvert, who climbed the Goodwood hill in the Peugeot 208 T16 (the one wherewith Sebastien Loeb has recently shattered the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record, in the United States of America). Guilvert set a time of 47.32 seconds. Third ranked the Lola-Drayson prototype with a time of 47.34 seconds, driven by Jonny Cocker. This electric car has recently broken the speed record for the fastest electric cars in the world.
We should also mention that it is already the fifth time when Justin Law gets the best time at Goodwood. He ranked first in the 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009 editions and now, in 2013, at the wheel of his own Jaguar Le Mans. The fastest time up the hill was set by Nick Heidfeld back in 1999 in a McLaren Formula One car. MP4/13: 41.6 seconds.
