The future might look bright, but boy does the past have some amazing moments worth reminiscing. Like Jaguar E-Type Series 3 which is getting a loop from the past into the present, courtesy of the UK restoration shop E-Type. The 1961 model is getting a full treatment. Like really full.
E-Type UK took a donor car, as always, and started working on its project. The basic platform got enforced and got a new 6.1-liter 800 cubic centimeters engine instead of the good old V12. Some more tweaks like a free-flowing exhaust system, an electronic fuel-injection system, and a five-speed manual transmission send the 400 hp to the rear wheels, while the four-piston front brake calipers help the car stop just as well as it accelerates.
The chassis received new completely adjustable shock absorbers, with 16-inches wire wheels perfectly fitting the Jaguar E-Type Series 3’ profile.
The exterior didn’t get ignored, now being embellished with delicate modifications, including LED headlights, exterior badges, and restyled bumpers. The interior of the car is also benefiting from modern technologies, now featuring heated seats, leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, and push-button ignition.
According to E-Type, each car requires not less than 4.000 work hours. This justifies the not-so-modest price starting at GBP 325.000 (USD 447.600), plus the donor car’s price.
