Is Bugatti EB118 the grandfather of the future Chiron?
by AllAutoExperts | 11 November, 2015
This Bugatti EB118 is pretty old, dating from 1998. It made its debut at the 1998 Paris Motor Show. ItalDesign is the one responsible for its existence, working for Volkswagen. The latter desired to create a new luxurious Bugatti model.
The main source of inspiration for this car was the 57 Atlantic from 1934.
The body of the car is made of ultra-light aluminum, hosting a W18 engine. This can produce up to 555 hp, in a constant all-wheel drive.

The producers used a big part of EB 118's features in the 1999 EB 218 concept, including the W18. You will also find a lot of details coming from this concept in the Bugatti Veyron and future Bugatti Chiron.
The main difference is that Bugatti EB118 hasn't managed to reach series production.
