Introducing The New DTM Championship Color Palette For The BMW M4 GT3 Racers
by AutoExpert | 15 March, 2022
BMW has showcased the four M4 GT3 race vehicles that will compete in this year's DTM competition. Throughout the championship, both the Walkenhorst Motorsport and Schubert Motorsport squads will race two BMW M4 GT3s. Previously, the DTM competition included customized race cars; presently, it utilizes GT3-spec racing cars.
Marco Wittman, a two-time DTM champion, and Esteban Muth will race for Walkenhorst Motorsport.
Wittman will operate a bright green vehicle sponsored by Schaeffler, while Muth will race a black and dark blue M4 GT3 sponsored by CATL and IQOO.
Sören Zinner, director of sponsorship at Schaeffler, commented: “Schaeffler is looking forward to the continuation of a long and successful partnership with BMW M Motorsport and, it goes without saying, to seeing our Schaeffler brand ambassador Marco Wittmann back on the grid for Walkenhorst Motorsport in the Green Machine.”
Sheldon van der Linde will drive the Shell-sponsored vehicle, while Philipp Eng will drive a blue, black, and white M4 GT3 with a RoboMarkets design.
BMW M4 GT3 is propelled by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six engine that produces around 590 horsepower and is paired to an Xtrac six-speed gearbox. The M4 GT3 is distinguished from the road-legal vehicle by a slew of aerodynamic improvements.
It sports a big rear wing, broadened fenders, a front fascia with a redesigned grille, and a unique hood with enormous air vents, to name a few. On April 30, the 2022 DTM season begins at the Portimao track in Portugal.
