Introducing China's Small Sports Car SC-01
by AutoExpert | 28 September, 2022
The Chinese startup Small Sports Car (SSC) has released an electric two-seat sports car that promises would serve as China's national sports car and provide pure driving enjoyment. The SC-01 is a compact coupe and the first vehicle produced by the firm. It’s slated to come in 2023 with a price of roughly ¥300,000.
The electric motors are located in the front and back, while the battery is in the back. With its 429 horsepower, it can reach 62 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. According to SSC, the car's height and wind resistance may be reduced by placing the battery in the middle.
Based on the New European Driving Cycle, it has a claimed range of 310 miles. SSC claims that the compact size and increased stiffness of the vehicle are due in part to the spaceframe chassis that rests underneath the body.
The company has gone with a minimalist design, ditching the infotainment screen in favor of regular buttons and knobs. All SC-01 parts, according to SSC, will be manufactured in China, and the first deliveries are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023. We don't know whether it will be available in any foreign markets.
