In Japan, Subaru WRX S4 Is Introduced With STI Sport R Trim Grade
by AutoExpert | 25 November, 2021
Subaru has officially launched the WRX S4 for the Japanese market, which is quite similar to the US-spec Subaru WRX that was revealed in September. The distinctive headlamp graphics, the S4 emblem on the tailgate, and the red STI emblems on the grille and tailgate of the STI Sport R trim levels define Subaru WRX S4.
Aside from those small modifications, the WRX S4 resembles the US-spec WRX. Solar Orange Pearl, Sapphire Blue Pearl, Ignition Red, and Ceramic White are among the new hues available for the automobile. There are four trim levels for the WRX S4: GT-H, GT-H EX, STI Sport R, and STI Sport R EX.
Recaro front seats with Ultra Suede upholstery, leather patches with red stitching throughout the interior, carbon-look trim pieces, and aluminum pedals are all standard on the STI-badged Subaru WRX S4 models. The STI level features a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch touchscreen for the Starlink infotainment system, which is exclusive to the Japanese market.
The newest EyeSight X driver assistance technology, which comprises a set of sensors and a driver-facing camera on the center console, is also included.
The turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer under the hood generates 271 horsepower (202 kW / 275 PS) and 375 Nm (276.6 lb-ft) of torque, which is 25 Nm (18.4 lb-ft) more than the US-spec model. Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with Active Torque Vectoring is standard on all models. The car is bulkier than its forerunner, weighing 1,600 kg (3,527 lbs), according to Subaru.
The STI-badged vehicles also feature a Drive Mode Select switch that changes the car's handling characteristics, such as the motor, AWD system, electronically controlled dampers, power steering, and air-con, among others.
Subaru WRX S4 is now on the market in Japan, with pricing ranging from ¥4,004,000 ($34,710) for the basic GT-H to ¥4,774,000 ($41,385) for the top-of-the-line STI Sport R EX.
