Improved Tech And Fresh Styling For VW's Lavida Sedan In China
by AutoExpert | 11 February, 2022
For the Chinese market, SAIC-Volkswagen revealed the facelifted variant of the third-generation Lavida, which has more technology and new design characteristics. In the range, there are two visually distinct variations. The MQB-based sedan's front end has been revised, with a larger grille, modern LED headlights, fresh bumper intakes, and much more chrome.
The Star Edition features a new grille pattern, tinted headlights, and a harsher bumper with glossy black highlights, similar to the R-Line versions. Aside from the new wheel styles, the profile is similar to the pre-facelift version. The new bumper incorporates the full-width reflectors and has a more prominent diffuser-style insert wrapped in chrome at the rear.
The LED taillights have been updated with new graphics, and the athletic Star Edition is differentiated by a glossy black lip spoiler that matches the mirror caps and top. The dashboard has undergone a major overhaul, making it more user-friendly.
A floating touchscreen with a digital instrument cluster is the most eye-catching feature of the new model. The steering wheel has been updated as well, with ambient lighting and additional trim selections. The Star Edition is distinguished by red highlights and red stitching that contrast with the black leather upholstery.
The powertrain options for the revised line were not announced by SAIC-VW. The 280TSI logo, on the other hand, indicates that the facelifted Lavida will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.4 TSI four-cylinder motor that produces 148 hp (110 kW/150 PS) and torque of 250 Nm (184.4 lb-ft).
Power will be supplied to the front axle via the seven-speed DSG transmission, as shown in the interior photos. The new Lavida is set to be shown at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2022.
