Imagining the Future: A Luxury Saab SUV Concept by Lucid Motors' Designer
by AutoExpert | 9 February, 2024
Although Saab is labeled as being dead with no chance of revival, that hasn’t deterred a senior designer from Lucid Motors from walling in the fantasy of picturing a future luxury SUV cherishing the Swedish marque’s emblem.
This very creation was brought to life by the one and only Grimaud Gervex, who was also responsible for the nerve-tickling Range Rover sedan.
Though it has little to no things in common with the Saab models of yesteryear, the model intakes few signature elements, such as simple lines and minimal shapes.
As “Saab Rover” has been conceptualized as an electric vehicle, it sports a sizable body-colored panel furnished with a noticeable Saab script and slim LED headlights.
Located on the fascia is a black and elegant strip that complements its minimalist design. Complementing the uncluttered design is the massive set of wheels alongside the hidden pillars behind the windshield and the side windows. The rear of the vehicle doesn’t fail to catch the eye thanks to its slender LED taillights that extend along the fascia and a small window.
The piece de resistance is the subtle third brake light.
While Saab is long gone, the company that bought its assets and factories in Trollhattan, Sweden, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), recently got a key element that may allow Emily GT EV to hit the market.
The vehicle was unveiled last year before NEVS was placed in “hibernation” by owner Evergrande Group but in December, it was acquired by Canadian startup EV Electra.
