Hardcore Off-Road Lada Niva Bronto Is Back!

Lada confirmed the end of production for the hardcore Niva Bronto at the end of last year. Customer demand for the off-road-inspired model of the SUV, however, remained strong, prompting the Russian automaker to reintroduce it this summer. The redesigned Niva Bronto has recently been presented by Lada, with upgrades focusing mostly on the interior.
Niva Bronto, which is based on the tough Niva Legend, will be available in two variants: Luxe and Prestige, with the former including metal bumper and 15-inch wheels.
The Prestige package includes beefier plastic bumpers, wheel arches, as well as fog lights, and a brand new radiator grille. Factory-certified equipment, such as a roof-mounted LED light bar and a specific "camouflage" exterior paint, is available on both models. As previously stated, the majority of the improvements for the new model are concentrated on the cabin. New instrumentation, a redesigned center console with new climate settings, improved and comfier seats with heating, and increased noise and vibration insulation are among the features. Inside the cabin, there are a few more minor changes.
Lada's legendary 1.7-liter naturally aspirated gas engine continues to offer power, producing 83 hp. The four-cylinder engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, which sends power to all four wheels via an AWD system with lockable front and back differentials. Niva Bronto's suspension has been slightly changed and stiffened. The updated Niva Bronto is now available for order at Lada dealerships across Russia. The model will not be shipped to other markets.
In 2024, a brand new generation of Niva is expected to debut. It was hinted earlier this year, and early reports indicate that it will be powered by a Renault-sourced 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. If this is true, this will be the first Niva in history to be driven by a turbo engine.
