Goodbye Giant Screens: Hyundai's Holographic Windshield Could Arrive By 2027

The battle for the biggest car screens is getting ridiculous. Well, a major shift might be just around the corner. Hyundai Mobis has teamed up with optics specialist Zeiss to create something far more interesting—a holographic windshield display.
Interestingly, this tech turns the windshield itself into a high-tech head-up display.
The design aims to replace your digital dashboard, infotainment system, and even the passenger's display, all while maintaining your focus on the road. Hyundai Mobis says this isn’t some far-off dream. They’re confident it could hit production as early as 2027. The system works by projecting information onto a windshield fitted with an ultra-thin film, only about as thick as human hair.
Automakers, presumably Hyundai and Kia, recently demoed the tech, and the company is keen to attract other players as well. And according to market predictions, holographic HUDs could grow to 7 million units by 2030, signaling a potential trend for the next wave of automotive displays. Well, we should say it's a refreshing step forward.
