Geely's Zeekr And Waymo Will Collaborate To Build Self-Driving Electric Vehicle

Geely Group's Zeekr, a new luxury electric car brand, has teamed up with Waymo to build an autonomous ride-hailing vehicle. The electric MPV is intended for use by the nascent Waymo One ride-hailing business, which is now under testing in San Francisco and currently runs in Phoenix, Arizona.
Geely's China Europe Vehicle Technology Center (CEVT) in Gothenburg, Sweden, is presently developing the vehicle, which is yet nameless. It will be powered by "a new proprietary and open-source mobility architecture," according to Geely.
Waymo will add its autonomous technology, which employs Lidar, cameras, radar, and computer processors to visually map its surroundings, after the vehicle's design is finished. The so-called Waymo Driver, advertised as "the world's most experienced driver," has logged millions of kilometers on public highways in more than 13 US states. The firms have yet to divulge any other technical specifics about the project, as well as a release date or target markets.
