Ford Presents Redesigned 2025 Transit Connect

Ford waved goodbye to the Transit Connect in the US last year, but the refreshed model unveiled in Europe displays a significant advance. The new Ford Transit Connect rolls out with all-wheel drive and a plug-in hybrid powertrain while featuring a wide grille, sweptback headlights, and an evolutionary body.
In two- and long-wheelbases with Van and Kombi configurations, the model is available in three trims: Trend, Limited, and Active.
Focusing on functionality, Ford calls attention to the increased load capacity of the panel van, which is up to 3.7 m3 (130.7 cubic feet) depending on the wheelbase. The Ford Transit Connect has a 1,808-pound payload and 3,307-pound tongue weight, which shows that it can do the work of a workhorse.
Inside, the ‘plastic fantastic’ interior accommodates a 10-inch digitized instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment system. Interestingly, the Kombi has a concept of a retractable seating system where the rear seats can be folded vertically, converting the van from a five-seat passenger vehicle to a two-seat work van in seconds.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain is manufactured beneath the hood and combines a 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engine, an electric motor, and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver 148 hp and up to 68 miles of electric-only range. The model also provides a two-liter eco-blue turbodiesel motor with several power outputs, including the all-wheel-drive version.
Apart from powertrains, the Ford Transit Connect has a wide range of ADAS technologies on offer in the form of forward collision warning, evasive steering assist, intersection assist, and pre-collision assist with auto emergency braking.
