First ride in a 2016 Mercedes C-Class Coupe
by AllAutoExperts | 20 July, 2015
A first look from the passenger seat of a Mercedes C-Class Coupe, which will be shown for the first time at Frankfurt 2015. We think this one will be one of the stars of Frankfurt 2015!
Some spy shots from Mercedes confirm that it will be offered in a few different varieties, however, this is the more restrained C300 with a 241hp, 2.0 L 4 cyl turbo.
The Coupe body style comes with that elegance found in a C-Class saloon. It has a bit of the AMG GT about it and a little S-Class Coupe. The steeply angled roofline constrains the inside space a bit and it is just a 4 seater, with a center console in the rear seat. The rear seats are moved a little closer to the front so it does increase trunk space a bit.
The engine is barely noticeable at idle, however, the sports exhaust gives it a bit of bassy rumble. The 241bhp 2.0-liter unit responds quickly and the 7-speed automatic is extremely smooth on shifting.
The MRA architecture has been utilized and this will result in a weight loss, we are not sure yet, but probably will be about 100kg lighter.
It Will be later this year before all of us can take a look and get behind the wheel and pricing will be known. We guess it will be a bit under the rivals from BMW and Audi which could make it a winner, only time will tell.
