First Look At The Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept
by AutoExpert | 5 April, 2023
The Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept was just introduced to the public at the Genesis House in New York City. Genesis has not said whether or not the vehicle would be put into production, but they have said it exemplifies their goal of designing cars with greater passion and performance.
The X Speedium Coupe Concept from last year's New York Car Show served as inspiration for the design of the Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept.
While the powertrain is not discussed, the press release focuses on the Genesis GV80 Coupe's aesthetic features. Big wheels, an assertive stance, and performance-oriented details like a rear spoiler and ducktail spoiler lip all contribute to the concept's high-speed stability and control. The design is meant to be a luxury SUV with sports car-like characteristics, as opposed to the regular GV80.
Cooling is improved by four slots in the bumper up front, and the Double G-Matrix Patterned Crest Grille is flanked on each side by four headlamps that make use of cutting-edge multi-lens array technology. Five-spoke forged aluminum wheels and a carbon fiber roof help keep the vehicle's center of gravity low and its weight down, while a "Designed by Genesis" badge adorns the front fender.
The inside of the Genesis GV80 Coupe has a three-spoke steering wheel, front and back seats made of black Nappa and suede leather with plaid double stitching, orange piping, and carbon fiber weaving.
The GV80 and GV70 SUVs are examples of lifestyle-oriented cars that have been added to the Genesis brand's lineup since its original concentration on sedans like the G70, G80, and G90, according to Group Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke. They are going a step further with this new vehicle by emphasizing performance and dynamic features while also making it extremely appealing.
