Exhilarating McLaren Solus GT Hypercar Set for Public Unveiling at Goodwood

Gear up to experience the thrill of a V10 engine roaring beyond 10,000 RPM as it ascends the iconic Lord March's driveway.
Last year, McLaren took a bold leap by announcing its intent to transform the Vision Gran Turismo Concept into reality. The result? The Solus GT, a hypercar that promises otherworldly performance with its 5.2-liter V10 engine and an appearance more suited to the cosmos than our terrestrial roads. The Solus GT is ready to make its public debut with its engine reverberating at the renowned Goodwood Hillclimb.
The Solus GT first emerged as a virtual car in the 2017 video game Gran Turismo Sport, where it was known as the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo. Now, 25 lucky and affluent car enthusiasts will have the thrill of owning this dream vehicle.
Some fortunate owners may witness the hypercar's debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled from July 13th to 16th. The grand unveiling aligns with McLaren's 60th-anniversary celebration, where renowned models from the past will share the spotlight with modern marvels like the Solus GT.
McLaren's CEO Michael Leiters, in a conversation with TheBusinessMagazineUK, said, "The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the perfect event to celebrate McLaren's 60-year journey filled with exhilarating performance." He further shared that alongside classic models, McLaren's current range will be on display, including two global dynamic debuts, fortifying McLaren's vision for a performance-driven future.
The Solus GT won't be the only McLaren making its debut; the new 750S mid-engine supercar will also be revealed, and the brand's new hybrid supercar, the Artura, will engage in some high-speed demonstrations. But none of these come close to matching the awe-inspiring Solus GT.
The Solus GT is in a league of its own, overshadowing regular street cars with its race-inspired design, a rev limit exceeding 10,000 RPM, and a staggering 817 hp (609 kW). Priced around $3.5 million, just 25 of these hypercars will grace our planet. We eagerly anticipate the moment it takes on the historic hill, adding to the rich legacy of Goodwood.
