Dongfeng Expands To Europe With The Stylish Nammi Box EV

The Chinese company Dongfeng has just introduced an attractive new entry-level Nammi Box electric vehicle to compete with the Citroen ë-C3 in Europe.
The Nammi Box will first be sold in Switzerland, where it will start at CHF 21,990 ($25,500). The Nammi Box, based on the automaker's S3 chassis, runs on a small 42.3 kWh battery pack. This battery powers a 94-horsepower electric motor.
While the Nammi Box is available in China with a smaller 31.5 kWh battery, Dongfeng has refrained from mentioning importing this pack to Europe just yet. Dongfeng has verified the vehicle's WLTP range of 193 miles; however, the speed of battery charging is unknown. In terms of aesthetics, at the front you'll see a slim LED light bar, two split headlamps, and a basic lower grille portion.
Frameless windows, an optional white roof, and flush-mounted, deployable door handles are some of its features. Inside, a tiny screen, displaying crucial vehicle information, sits in front of the driver on a two-tone leather steering wheel. A pair of modern metal air vents sit under the central infotainment screen, which is standard in most modern automobiles.
The white quilted leather that extends over the door panels and bottom portion of the dashboard is our favorite aspect because it makes the interior appear more luxurious. The interior is more functional thanks to a floating center console.
Nammi Box models sold in Switzerland will first be imported from China. However, Dongfeng is negotiating with the Italian government to open a factory there, which could allow them to build the Nammi Box in Italy and avoid costly EU import tariffs.
