Do you think that your new Ford is liable for such performance? Here's a W124 with 3.4 million kilometers on board!

Often among motorists, a myth is circulating that says a new car is a new car. Translated, this advice, particularly for the young driver wants to tell us that a new car is more comfortable, more economical, more efficient, more powerful, safer, more reliable, and more pleasing to the eye.
And yet, the practice overcomes theory in the case of new car brands or models, their purchase turns out to be a hole in your wallet. Although the global automotive manufacturers claim that their models are capable of running 400,000 km without problems, we notice the reality often does not match the promises made. The turbine yields, sensors, gears, different parts, pumps, dampers, and all kinds of intelligent onboard errors are just a few of the most common causes of authorized service presentation.
It is true that in terms of a perfect world and if the pocket/salary/job/business allows this, you can change your car every two years, when expiring the guarantee so you're spared of the problems that may arise later, but not all ordinary citizens can afford this luxury.
And then you turn to face the cars produced in the 90s, known as one of the most resistant to the operation time. And they say about "no longer produce cars as before." And there is a portion of truth in what was said. As evidenced by the history of Mercedes-Benz W124, one of the most popular models of the German car manufacturer, the owner of which managed to complete a total of 3.4 million kilometers! Do not say that a modern car would be capable of such performance! Whether he would not be as reliable and no matter what brand it is.
The model that I am talking about was produced in 1991 and his first million km was reached in only six years after purchase and outside of regular technical inspection and fuel quality, the W124 has never had anything to change. Meanwhile, the body has lost its luster and won rust, but its owner named Magnus Saele was a taxi driver by profession and does not give up so easily. He has in his garage a body W210 E 300 diesel with 900,000 kilometers on board, but at the age of 84 years can hardly find time and forces to break new records being proud of his historical model W124.
Editor's Note: We have nothing against the owners of Ford and no claims against automobile manufacturer, is just one example.
