DeLorean Next Generation Motors Will Build A C8 Corvette-Based Supercar

A year ago, DeLorean Next Generation Motors made headlines with the announcement of its first model, aptly named the "Model," a project led by Kathryn DeLorean, the daughter of John Z. DeLorean. However, DNG is taking a unique approach to honoring her father's legacy.
In addition to the homage-paying model, DNG Motors has now revealed plans to create a more accessible supercar based on the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette.
Although it hasn't received a name yet, DNG confirmed that this model will be more affordable and within reach for a broader audience compared to the high-end Model JZD. The choice of the C8 Corvette as the base is fitting not only because it's an economically priced mid-engined sports car but also because John Z. DeLorean, who spent 17 years at GM and led Chevrolet, advocated for a mid-engine Corvette during his time, alongside Zora Arkus-Duntov.
Kathryn DeLorean mentioned that DNG Motors will give this Corvette-based model a unique design, incorporating gullwing doors reminiscent of the original DMC-12. Details about the mechanical changes are still unclear, but the company intends to collaborate with various aftermarket performance specialists. Kathryn's vision is to complete her father's story by building a DeLorean based on the Corvette, a car that represents her father's dream.
On the other hand, DNG's Model JZD will occupy the top tier of its lineup. It's a hand-built model that comes at a significantly higher price point than the expected $125,000 cost of the Alpha5 from the other DeLorean venture. The Model JZD will be produced in extremely limited quantities, with only 42 examples available worldwide.
