Datsun 240Z Electric Transformation Inspired By Batmobile Designer Ash Thorp

You've probably seen your fair share of beautiful automobile renderings, but the fact that this Datsun 240Z went from idea to reality makes it stand out. Ash Thorp, best known for designing the Batmobile in the Batman film, collaborated with Carlos Pecino of Make Haste Corp. to create this matte black Datsun 240Z.
It takes design cues from the Batmobile with details like carbon fiber wheel caps on BBS multi-spoke alloys, an impressive rear diffuser, and side cameras that double as mirrors. A new electric powertrain developed by Tesla supplies 401 hp to the back wheels in place of the old engine.
Even though it's about 2,500 pounds, it keeps a low profile. On the inside, the 240Z has a new layout, a digital instrument cluster, a sturdy center console, and a steering column borrowed from the Chevy Equinox. The ultimate product? An amazing fusion of traditional style and cutting-edge functionality.
